Worth Sharing

DAY 27 OF 28

Road trips are the best. You are jam-packed in the car with your friends or family. You have a perfectly curated playlist and are fully stocked on snacks...Starbursts, Pringles, Cheetos, and of course, Sour Patch Kids. You roll down the window, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the ride.

Doesn't that just make you want to hop in the car and take a vacation right now?

The reason why road trips are usually awesome is because there has been a lot of planning prior to the trip. You decide where to go and the route you need to take to get there. You budget for gas, make reservations at campsites or hotels, and you research the area that you'll be visiting. So, when it comes time to hit the road, you know what to do to make the trip go smoothly.

The same goes for sharing our faith with our friends. We probably won't reach our destination unless we have a plan. The good news is that we don't have to try to create this plan on our own. Our Scripture today reminds us that the Holy Spirit will guide us.

First, write the names of your friends out on a piece of paper or on an app on your phone. Then, ask God to guide you as you think about how to share the Good News with your friends. Pray for each person on your list.

This will help you become a compassionate friend who is willing to listen. As you listen to your friends, God will help you share the Good News in a way that is timely and helpful.

About this Plan

Worth Sharing

For the next four weeks, we'll follow the story of Samuel to see how God called him to share his faith through his words and actions. We'll discover how God invites us to share the Good News, see why sharing the Good News should start with prayer, explore what to do when sharing the Good News sometimes requires risk, and see how sharing the Good News can happen every day.
