DAY 5 OF 28

It’s easy to get caught up in the daily routine of classes, homework, and all the other activities that fill up our schedules. You might have even felt that you are so busy with your day-to-day life that you don’t even have time to respond to your friend’s text message and keep up with social media. It can feel like we are stuck when it comes to connecting with each other.

1 Peter 2:16 helps set up a great reminder that we don’t need to feel stuck. That we can be free to lead people and show up for others.

If we can be honest with ourselves though, this can be pretty tough. I am sure we can think of one person that we have let down or haven’t followed up with because we have been too busy. Instead of feeling guilty about it, be intentional today. Take a moment and think about someone you haven't followed through with recently. Maybe it's a friend you've been meaning to catch up with or a classmate you've been meaning to invite to a youth event. Whatever it is, make a commitment to reach out to that person today.

You might feel hesitant or awkward about reaching out, but sometimes stepping up for others and leading can require us to step out of our comfort zones. Don't let the busyness of life or fear of rejection hold you back from showing up for others, just like Jesus does.

About this Plan

Most Likely to . . .

When you hear the word "leader," you might think about an influential celebrity, a famous politician, a coach, or your new class president. Great leaders don't have to have official positions, titles, or people who report to them. With God, being a great leader is something anyone can achieve because leadership is simply about becoming the kind of person who's worth following. But how?
