Jesus First: A Study on EphesiansSample

Jesus First: A Study on Ephesians

DAY 48 OF 49

Discover

Ephesians 1-6 reveals God's plan of redemption that he has had in mind for humanity since the beginning of time. Within the first three chapters of Ephesians, we explore the Gospel story, while the following three chapters illustrate to us clearly how we, as believers, are called to live out the Gospel.

Learn

In chapters 1-3, we see clearly how God's greatness is made known, yet He is still personal to us through the work of His son Jesus. Throughout these passages, we can see the mystery of the Gospel revealed to us that we are to be united as one people. Light is brought to our eyes, and our hearts are enlightened as we are pointed to the hope of God's calling and the wealth of His glorious inheritance. The first three chapters are the foundation, while the following three chapters build a call to action and show us what a group of people following Jesus are called to look like. Chapters 4-6 remind us that, though we were once living with the old life corrupted by deceitful desires that left us in darkness, we are called to walk in the new life, the one created in God's likeness and the one in which our new identity unites us all as dearly loved children. Here, it is clear how every believer, from every generation, season, and ethnicity, is brought together to reflect this new life we are given in Christ.

Apply

Ephesians prompts us all towards the same action and goal to see the riches of Christ's love and imitate Him within the church, our family, our relationships, our work, and even against the powers, darkness, and sin that have infiltrated this world. The letter of Ephesians calls us to unite and walk in full assurance of the Gospel life given to us as believers in Christ. In what ways do you need to walk in the Gospel illustrated to us through Ephesians?

About this Plan

Jesus First: A Study on Ephesians

There is no greater joy in life than one with Jesus first. The book of Ephesians teaches us that the gospel unites and motivates us to live for Christ. Through Christ's sacrifice, we receive God's love, forgiveness, and deliverance. This new identity in Christ calls us to imitate Him in all aspects of our lives, including our relationships and our battle against the darkness in the world.
