Day 4: Worship

Today, we are going to be diving into another key piece of a Christian’s life: Worship.
Worship is when you show deep reverence, admiration, and affection for something. You have a deep love and honor for something. As humans, we were made by God to worship. More specifically to worship Him.

We often worship God by singing songs of praise. We all have worship songs that come on and we are instantly excited to sing our heart out to God! I want to encourage you to realize the beauty of worship is not about yourself. God is worthy to be worshiped because He is God. He is the creator of the heavens and the earth. He made you and I uniquely, fearfully, and wonderfully. He is holy and saved us from an eternity separated from Him in Hell.

Too often, we make worship about us telling God to do things, when worship is really about singing praises for how good God is. Expressing your thankfulness and adoration for God. Worship is not about us, it’s about God.

The Bible tells us that singing isn’t the only way to worship God, but how we live our lives serves as worship as well. How we live our lives each day is a beautiful picture of worship to the Lord. By making our lives less about what we want and more about obeying what God is calling us to do, we show God more love and gratitude than we realize.

Next Steps

My challenge today on the topic of worship is simple. I want you to listen to a song by Matt Redman called The Heart of Worship. I want you to listen to the lyrics, then put on some instrumental worship music and begin to worship God for yourself. Sing out how worthy He is, how much you love Him, how thankful you are for Him. Truly lean into worshiping God because He is worthy to be praised.
