Living a Life WorthySample
Day 1: Living a Life Worthy of God
In a world that has instant gratification when it comes to basically everything, we have to be careful that we don’t live a life that is complacent or impatient when it comes to our relationship with God. We are called to a higher standard of living. God calls us to not just live good lives, but to live lives worthy of the calling He has placed on our life. Lives that are built around knowing Him and making Him known.
We say this often, but we firmly believe that good people don’t go to heaven, forgiven people do. God does not base our salvation on the good things we do for Him or the people around us, but doing those things comes naturally to us as we get closer to God and continue to seek out HIS will and desires for our life instead of our own.
In order to do that, we have to spend time with Him through prayer, worship, studying, and memorizing scripture. Our lives should be marked by generosity with all God has given us. Whether it be sharing our faith, meeting the needs of others, or glorifying God by using our gifts for Him. Our hope and prayer for you as you go through this plan is that you would be given tools to equip you to live a life that is worthy of your calling.
Next Steps
My challenge for you today is to start this week by spending time listening to God. Play a song off of the Bethel Without Words Album, open in prayer, and just take time to sit in silence and see where God wants you to lean in a little more this week and WRITE IT DOWN. Journaling prayers is one of the most encouraging things to look back on and see how God has shown up in your life.
About this Plan
Throughout this six-day devotional, we will walk you through the basics of what living a life worthy of the calling God has given us as Christians looks like. We serve a God who is worthy to be followed, praised, and adored, not just because of what He's done, but who He is. Join us as we walk through five fundamental pillars of every Christian's life.
