Going Places

DAY 27 OF 28

Sharing what you believe with your friends can be intimidating, especially when they believe something different. It takes vulnerability and humility to open up about it. But if we really care about our friends, we'll be open to sharing our beliefs, opinions, and experiences. This is not just because we want to share about how God has showed up for us in our lives, but also so that we can learn more about their own beliefs.

Here are a few things to keep in mind.

First, be humble in how you share. Remember that your friends have their own beliefs, and those beliefs are just as important to them as your beliefs are to you. Take time to be curious about their thoughts.

Remember to share from your own personal experience. Tell your friends how you've seen God work in your own life, and why that's meant so much to you. Your friends don't need a lecture from you, but they will care about your story.

Also, be sensitive to how your friends react. They may have been hurt or disappointed by people who claimed to follow Jesus. Be understanding and empathetic to people whose experience may be different than yours.

Finally, let God lead the way. Remember that God loves your friends even more than you do, and has a special plan for all our lives. Show your friends the same kind of love that Jesus has shown you, and you can trust that God to take care of the rest.

About this Plan

Going Places

Friends are the people we’ve spent countless hours with telling stories, laughing, and creating memories together. Great friendships are more than just having people to hang out with, but how do you find friends like that? How do you build the kinds of friendships that last? And what do you do if you feel like your friendships aren't everything you'd want them to be?
