Jesus and PornSample
Colossians 3:5a says, “So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires.” Paul says we must eliminate anything that leads to sexual immorality, such as lust and desire. Put these thoughts to death and do not stir them up again. We must be careful of what we look at and hold our thoughts captive.
Be mindful, as technology can offer a dark world to many. Matthew 5:28 says, “But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Jesus uses the word anyone, and that includes people who are single and people who are married.
Jesus also says in Matthew 5:29-30, “So if your eye– even your good eye causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your hand– even your stronger hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”
My encouragement is that you cut porn out of your life completely. Delete it on your devices, movies, music, etc., and replace them with something pure and right.
Daily Challenge :
Do you have anything that needs to be removed for your own good? If the answer is yes, I pray that you take the time to cut out any sexual sins you have and replace them with pure things.
Prayer:
“ Lord, things in this world are so dark, full of lust and sexual sins. Help me to see what is right. I ask that you lead me to what is good for my eyes and heart. If there is anything in me or around me that is not good for my eyes and heart. I ask that you nudge my heart and help me to cut off anything that is not right for my eyes and heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen!”
