Romans - Part 1: SINSample

Romans - Part 1: SIN

DAY 7 OF 35

Romans 1:17 Good News Faith.

Today's verse is a short verse filled with truths we need to break down to apply to our lives.

For in it…‘it’ here refers to ‘the gospel.’ (Reminder: ‘the gospel’ is the good news that our belief in the Lord Jesus provides salvation from our sins)

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” – (Psalms 103:12)

Wow, that makes me want to shout Thank you LORD!

The righteousness of God…(righteousness means right relations between man and God) is revealed from faith to faith…(from start to finish) I need that ‘start to finish’ faith. as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith” (This is a quote from Habakkuk 2:4). This verse is also quoted in Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38.

Hmmmm…must be an important truth to hold onto!? The person in a right relationship with God lives by faith. One can be righteous in God’s sight only through faith.

The believer is to trust God in everything. We are saved by faith, by believing the good news, and we live by faith on a daily basis (keeping right relations with God, which equals right living). The benefits of this “right living” are numerous and cause me to want to sing out Psalm 103:1-5!

Whoa, this also makes me want to keep short accounts with God. When we sin, we need to confess. pronto. When we fall in the mud (sin), we don’t just lie there wallowing in it (which could lead to drowning); we get up and get cleaned off (confess). We then inhale some fresh air (reading some scripture and /or praising and thanking God - worship).

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness”. (1 John 1:9)

Notice the word all. So, what should we do when things in life go sideways? Trying to walk in step with God, we can find peace by reading His Word. We can live more by faith as we trust in the ‘righteousness of God,’ as revealed to us through all of scripture.

Let's live a GOOD NEWS FAITH and reap the benefits of an energizing and renewing walk with our Sovereign God, daily!

P.S. I challenge you to put Psalm 103:1-5 to memory.
