A Letter to TeensSample
Rest
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Mat 11:28)
In the story of creation, on the seventh day, God rested after completing all His creations. He witnessed that all His creations were good and finished. It's complete.
What does “rest” mean to us?
Does it mean we should just lie around all day and waste our time? Definitely not!
Rest means that we should trust in God and surrender to Him. We should have faith that God is good and always has our best interests at heart. When we rest, we are calm and peaceful, knowing that God has everything under control.
Rest doesn't mean being lazy and doing nothing. It means that we rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us in our daily lives. We trust that Jesus has finished everything on the cross and that we are fully forgiven for our sins. We don't have to worry about pleasing God because He is always pleased with us, no matter what.
Jesus offers us rest, and we should accept it with open arms. When we come to Him with our burdens and problems, there is relief and peace from Him. We can trust that our future is in God's hands and that He has a glorious plan for us.
It's important not to let negative thoughts and feelings overwhelm us. We should focus on the positive and trust that God loves and cares for us. Even when things don't go as planned, we can still have faith that God is with us every step of the way.
So, let's live our youth by trusting in God and surrendering to His plan. Jesus is our Rest, and we can find peace and assurance in Him.
