A Dozen Easter Bible Stories for Kids, Children, & Kiddos

DAY 9 OF 12

Run to Tell the Good News!

Run to Tell the Good News!

Main Point: When you know Jesus is risen from the dead, you want to tell someone!

Be on the lookout! Questions

Why did the women rush back from the tomb?

How did the men react to first hearing the women’s story of what happened?

What did Peter do when he heard what the women said about Jesus’s tomb?

Kids Devo:

The women who went to Jesus's tomb saw that His body was not there, and they met an angel who told them that Jesus was alive! They rushed to tell the disciples the Good News! But when the men first heard the women's story, they didn't believe it. They thought it was nonsense.

Peter, one of Jesus's disciples, did something different. He remembered how he had denied Jesus three times before and felt very sorry. [See Luke 22:54-62.] Peter jumped up and ran to the tomb to see for himself what had happened.

We have heard this Good News too! We can tell others that Jesus is alive and with us forever! Let's not be afraid to share this Good News with others, even if they don't believe us.

And remember kiddo, Grandma Goodie loves you but God loves you more!

Let's Pray:

Dear God,

Thank you for the Good News that Jesus is alive and with us forever!

Help us to share this amazing story with others, even if they don't believe us.

Please give us Resurrection Power through Jesus.

Amen.

Play Ideas:

  • Play Resurrection Tag. Here’s how: If you’ve ever played Freeze Tag, this game is like that.
    • Someone is “It” and they can tag whoever they touch. Whoever they tag has to fall down and not move but count to 3. Then hold up 3 fingers.
    • Anyone who is not “dead” on the ground and is not “It” has Resurrection Power.
    • Anyone with Resurrection Power can touch anyone on the ground with 3 fingers up.
    • When touched by someone having Resurrection Power, the person who was “dead” on the ground can jump up “alive from the dead.” They cannot die again, but can help raise others up when they hold up 3 fingers.
    • The round is over when everyone except the person who’s “It” has been raised from the dead and cannot die again.
