Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 3:7-13.
Take a few minutes to think about the unsearchable, boundless riches of Christ and thank God for what He has given to you in Him. As I consider these riches, I am thankful for His abiding presence and that He promises He will never leave me nor forsake me! Reread this passage and make a mental list of these riches.
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today's focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day. Ephesians 3:11-12 "This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him."
WATER THE SEED
Why do we get so caught up in needing something - a new purse, "those" shoes, the dream house, the right outfit, you know? Or we say, "I'll be really happy when" "If only my husband" "When my daughter" "If I had a little more income." None of this compares in light of what we already have! We must remind ourselves that only Christ satisfies (Psalm 16:11). We just need to redo our "accounting" and change our way of thinking and replace sinful habits with godly ones. God has given us boldness and access with confidence to Him. He has opened not only His courtroom door, but He has also opened the door to His private chambers. We are now allowed to address the Lord of heaven and earth as "Father!" Never before was that done! Your heavenly Father is inviting you to come in. No matter the day or the time or the subject, He wants you to come to Him. Tell Him the things - the earthly things - your heart craves. Then ask Him to help you crave Him and His holiness and Christ's righteousness. Before you leave your devotion today, take a moment to pray, to take this truth to heart, crawl into the lap of your Father, and pour out your heart to Him.
BEAR THE FRUIT
Given boldness and access with confidence to the Father.
CLOSE IN PRAYER
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

About this Plan
The Bible uses seasons to illustrate God's work in us. This 40-day devotional uses the metaphor of a garden for growing in Christ. You will be given seeds of truth (Scripture), instructions for planting (taking it to heart), and watering (application) that seed. The Lord will grow a beautiful garden of His character in your heart, overflowing with the fullness of the Lord.
