Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 3:1-6. Who does Paul say he is? According to verse 2, what has he been given? And for whom? What does Paul say about us in verse 6?
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today's focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day. Ephesians 3:1 "For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles."
WATER THE SEED
First Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us that we, too, have been chosen for a purpose: "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." We may not be in prison literally but we are bondservants of Christ Jesus (Romans 6:15-23). As you go about your day today, meditating on the scripture above, continue to keep your "flesh" in chains and the Spirit free to do its will. Remember, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
BEAR THE FRUIT
Bondservant of Jesus Christ.
CLOSE IN PRAYER
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

About this Plan
The Bible uses seasons to illustrate God's work in us. This 40-day devotional uses the metaphor of a garden for growing in Christ. You will be given seeds of truth (Scripture), instructions for planting (taking it to heart), and watering (application) that seed. The Lord will grow a beautiful garden of His character in your heart, overflowing with the fullness of the Lord.
