Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 2:17-22. Read this passage through a few times and ask the Lord to increase your understanding of your position in Him and in His church (Ephesians 1:3-14).
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today's focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day. Ephesians 2:19-20 "You are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone."
WATER THE SEED
When did He begin to draw you to Himself? Think back for a moment about when and how the Lord opened your eyes to see Him as your Savior and Lord. How have you grown? Do you love Him more today? Do you love His word more than ever? We think of ourselves as a part of a family, a church, a neighborhood, a group, or an office, but how often do we think of ourselves as a member of the household of God? 1 Peter 2:5 tells us "you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." Please bow before the Lord, and offer Him a sacrifice of praise. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Think on this powerful truth in each step you take today.
BEAR THE FRUIT
Member of the household of God.
CLOSE IN PRAYER
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

About this Plan
The Bible uses seasons to illustrate God's work in us. This 40-day devotional uses the metaphor of a garden for growing in Christ. You will be given seeds of truth (Scripture), instructions for planting (taking it to heart), and watering (application) that seed. The Lord will grow a beautiful garden of His character in your heart, overflowing with the fullness of the Lord.
