Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 4:4-8.
Listen carefully. To what were you called? Of what are you a part? Reread verse 4. God's heart is for Christians to live in unity with one another, remembering that we are all a part of one body. We must do whatever we can to preserve the unity of the body and to remind ourselves that we are not an army of one. We are a part of the body of Christ. "There is one body and one Spirit - just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call - one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all" (Ephesians 4:4-6).
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today's focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day. Ephesians 4:7 "But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift."
WATER THE SEED
But God has given each of us the grace we need to do our part. Are you actively fulfilling your role in the body? Do you give of your time, talent, and treasure? Are you part of a group of believers? We are not to be like Jack Bauer, doing it all on our own, but rather to do what He has called us to do in Him and in fellowship. Second Corinthians 12:9 says, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." God's grace in Paul empowered him in his weakness. That same grace was given to you - according to the measure of Christ's gift! "And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work" (2 Corinthians 9:8). God's grace provides all we need so that we can truly say God is enough! He is my All in All! Is this how you see yourself or your circumstances? Do you believe this truth?
BEAR THE FRUIT
Grace is given to those who are in Christ.

About this Plan
The Bible uses seasons to illustrate God's work in us. This 40-day devotional uses the metaphor of a garden for growing in Christ. You will be given seeds of truth (Scripture), instructions for planting (taking it to heart), and watering (application) that seed. The Lord will grow a beautiful garden of His character in your heart, overflowing with the fullness of the Lord.
