Seeds of Spring

DAY 12 OF 40

Planting and Tending Your Garden

SEED OF TRUTH

Read Ephesians 2:8-10.

This passage of scripture tells us that our salvation is a gift of God. Have you fully and gratefully received this gift? There may be times when you feel unworthy of it, or you may even take it for granted. Read verse 8, slowly one word at a time. How did you come to receive this gift of salvation? It is by grace - unmerited, undeserved, unearned favor. You have been given this grace because of God's great love and rich mercy. It is given for a purpose, one that God has planned.

PLANT THE SEED

Quietly recite today's focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day. Ephesians 2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

WATER THE SEED

Consider what it means to be His workmanship. Everything - your life circumstances, your personality, your talents, your strengths, and your weaknesses - has contributed to who you are and who you have been chosen to be in Christ. Take time today to thank God for His workmanship in you! Ask Him to help you see how He has gifted you to bless the body of Christ. Listen and observe. Ask Him to give you wisdom and understanding. Follow Him as He leads you in the path of righteousness and patiently allow Him to lead. May you be encouraged!

BEAR THE FRUIT

Created for good works.

CLOSE IN PRAYER

Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

About this Plan

Seeds of Spring

The Bible uses seasons to illustrate God's work in us. This 40-day devotional uses the metaphor of a garden for growing in Christ. You will be given seeds of truth (Scripture), instructions for planting (taking it to heart), and watering (application) that seed. The Lord will grow a beautiful garden of His character in your heart, overflowing with the fullness of the Lord.
