Two Kingdoms - Part 1Sample
Perseverance
The teaching of Jesus on the mountain provides an overview of who Jesus is and why He came to earth. His very purpose!
He has clearly stated what His kingdom’s citizens are like and has given clues about His Father (our Father) in Heaven. How does He end His teaching that sums up all His teaching?! If you want a hint, check out Matthew 5:10. The kingdom’s people will face battles that require perseverance.
Let’s check it out! Matthew 7 verses 13 & 14 points us to an important truth He wants us to know about how we walk in life. Write down what these verses mean for you in your life.
Jesus continues by giving clear warnings about the battles and challenges His people will face. Read through the verses and write down what Jesus warns us about. Are you experiencing any challenges in your life today? Know that your Father sees you, loves you, and is WITH you in these challenges.
Listen to the Father for a moment. What does He want you to know about the challenges you are going through?
Jesus ends by giving us two things that describe the wise man! Read verse 24. How is the wise man described?
Go deep: Are there any ways that you are building your “house” in areas that would wash away in a storm? Are there ways you are building your house on the Rock?
Be bold: End your time today by thinking about the people you interact with every day. Are there any particular ways the Father wants you to show His love and His ways to them? Ask Him to give you His heart for the people around you.
Memorise it: “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:14 NIV
