For an athlete, training is key. You can’t just walk out onto a field and think you can beat the fastest man in the world. Instead, each day you have to focus on a skill or muscle to train and build in order to reach that goal. Over time, this starts to become routine. Instead of having to endure the agony of a workout, you look forward to the effort knowing that it’s going to take you to where you want to go. And with patience and hard work, you are going to become faster and stronger than you were before you started. In the same way, we have to work to build up our prayer muscles as well. We want our prayer lives to become so second nature that we barely have to think about it before we find ourselves praying each day. But often, we have to train to get there. We need to build up good habits and routines in order to flex this spiritual muscle.
So this week, start doing just that! Create a prayer journal for yourself. Commit to writing in this journal each day as a part of your prayer exercise. Create sections for you to pray for yourself, for another person, and for anything that God has placed on your heart. Let the journal guide you toward making prayer a faithful, daily habit.

About this Plan
An influencer has the ability to change our minds or make us try something new. And while we may think of an influencer as someone with millions of followers, the reality is we don’t need a big audience to be an influencer. In fact, God calls each one of us to be an influencer for good. In this devotional, we’ll see all the ways God has used people—even the unexpected people—to have an amazing influence on others.
