DAY 15 OF 30

I think we can all see a little of ourselves in the disciple, Simon Peter (also known as Peter). Peter was so on fire and enthusiastic for Jesus Christ. His passion is evident in all that was recorded of him in Scripture. It would seem like no one could or would ever question his love for Jesus. But in reality, Simon Peter was far from perfect. At a time when he could have shown his loyalty to Jesus, he instead chose to be loyal to himself. Even though he had great intentions, sometimes Peter would get in his own way. And if we’re honest, aren’t we all like this? Don’t we all struggle to do our best, even though we know we’ll still end up making some mistakes along the way? What changed so much for Peter was that he had someone praying for him. Not just someone, but Jesus Himself! That’s a pretty big deal! And we can see that, even though he still made some mistakes, Peter ended up doing amazing things for the Kingdom thanks to the prayers of Jesus.

Do you have someone in your life that you know prays for you? Are you that person to someone else? If you do pray for someone, go and let them know about it! If you know that someone is praying for you, take some time today to say thank you and let them know how that prayer makes you feel.

About this Plan

Influencers

An influencer has the ability to change our minds or make us try something new. And while we may think of an influencer as someone with millions of followers, the reality is we don’t need a big audience to be an influencer. In fact, God calls each one of us to be an influencer for good. In this devotional, we’ll see all the ways God has used people—even the unexpected people—to have an amazing influence on others.
