God can guide us in practical and unusual ways. Unusual is definitely what happened in this verse. After being made aware of King Herod’s evil intentions, the wise men decided to trust the guidance God gave them in a dream. It may be unusual, but in this dream, they are told that a certain star will guide them to Jesus. Unusual, yes, but the guys decided to follow the guidance God gave, and it led them straight to Jesus.
Today, as you think about this verse, consider the ways God guides you today. Maybe it’s through other people, Scripture, or even prayer. (By the way, it’s typically a combination of these kinds of things.) However God is guiding you, choose to take a step to trust God’s guidance more today. You can be confident that when you follow God’s guidance, God will lead you to good things. Not always easy, but always good.
