Messy ChristmasSample
Life, circumstances, social media feeds, and people all speak to us. We receive messages from different sources daily. As we journey through life, we can be encouraged or discouraged depending on the messages we pay attention to. In Luke 2:9-10, an angel gets the attention of the shepherds living in the field and shares an incredible message. Jesus coming to earth is good news that brings joy to everyone! This was a message they could not miss and the angel made sure of it. In a world where we are constantly receiving messages, what good messages might you be overlooking? What is God saying that you are not paying attention to because other sources just seem to be louder?
Today, pray and thank God that the message that joy was on the way, the message that Jesus had come for the good of all people, is still good news for us 2000 years later.

About this Plan
“Joy to the world” is a catchy lyric, but real joy can seem totally impossible when life feels messy. When we think of “Christmas,” we think of “joyful celebration," but what happens when the holiday season doesn’t match what’s actually happening around us? We’ll discover that Christmas can still be a season of joy, even when life feels messy.
