Through the Bible: RevelationSample
God Is Speaking, Are We Listening?
Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29, 3:6, 13, 22 (NIV)
The Book of Revelation is God’s revelation to His Son given to Apostle John through an angel for the seven churches. A big portion is about three sets of seven symbols each. Each symbol has its meaning: the seal speaks of unveiling, the trumpet of war or warning, and the bowl of wrath to pour out, God’s wrath. It’s God’s kindness in foretelling us of things to come so that we’re prepared. Before that, it tells of Jesus walking among the seven lampstands: His churches (Rev 1:13, 20). Each one is given a message with the same pattern: His attributes are relevant to the message, commentating on their deeds either with praise, rebuke, or correction, followed by warning and rewards.
Here we learn judgment begins with God’s house. We’re His workmanship for good work to continue His mission here on earth. God disciplines us, His legitimate children, for our good so that we bear peaceful fruit of righteousness (Hebrews 12: 6, 10-11).
Today’s scripture reminds us to hearken unto His voice and not be ignorant.
Prayer
Father God, forgive us for not listening to your voice, which grieves the Holy Spirit. Help us to be attentive to you, so we may carry out your will. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen

About this Plan
Just as there is a beginning, there is an end. Revelation reveals how Jesus will come back soon to judge all evil, reward His followers, and restore the paradise He once created–a place without sin, sorrow, and death. Readers are promised with a blessing if they hear and keep what is written in the book. Despite its difficulty, this is undoubtedly a book worth our time to unravel.
