Spiritual Principle
What if you decided to live your life with boldness? What do you think would change? Throughout the Bible, we see what happens when boldness is displayed. A great story that displays boldness on another level is the life or death situation we find in Daniel 6. Here’s a recap of the story:
Daniel was a Jewish man who was taken into captivity in Babylon. While in captivity, he interpreted one of the king's dreams and was promoted to highest ruler in the kingdom. A couple of the other administrators wanted to get rid of Daniel, so they convinced the king to make a decree saying anyone caught worshiping God would be thrown into a lion's den.
“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before” (Daniel 6:10 NIV).
This is the type of boldness we need to be living out! Daniel did not waver in faith one bit, even as he was thrown into the lion’s den. You might be thinking, “Did Daniel get eaten by the lions? What happened?” God honored Daniel’s faith and saved him, and the king decreed that everyone in his kingdom must revere the God of Daniel. Daniel’s boldness led an entire kingdom to know the power of our God!
When it comes to sharing the Good News of our faith with others, we sometimes end up feeling scared or embarrassed. But the secret to having the boldness to share your faith so openly is by being filled with the Holy Spirit.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8 NLT).
With the power of the Holy Spirit, you can say “No” to fear and “Yes” to faith. You can have the boldness to tell everyone you meet about the hope you have found in Jesus.
It is time to hit CTRL + B on your faith. And when you do, you will start to see, as Daniel did, how amazing and rewarding it is when God uses your bold faith to lead others to knowing Christ!
