DAY 5 OF 7

CTRL + Z

Undo. Undo. If you typed a letter, a word, or put an image that is not what you wanted in your document, instead of manually highlighting the word and clicking delete or backspacing multiple times, press CTRL + Z to undo the action.

Spiritual Principle

Now that you know you are a child of God, you can come to terms with who you were before you started following Jesus. As we mentioned before, God gives us grace despite our circumstances. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) it reads, “But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'” The one Christ was speaking to in this verse was a man named Paul. Paul was not a great guy before he met Jesus. In fact, he was a persecutor of Christians and was referred to as Saul. You can read up on his conversion story in Acts 9 and 22.

Maybe you wish you could hit CTRL + Z in your life so you do not have to deal with the consequences of what you have done. But just like Paul, you have the opportunity to find new strength. With salvation in Christ, you are given the space to reflect back on what you did and see how you can improve moving forward. You are given the power to say, “Yes, I messed up. Yes, it hurts, but God.” He is the One who has been there all along. He knows what you did, and He still chooses to love you, to set you apart from this world, and to bring you into His Kingdom for a purpose.

Paul sums it up perfectly for us in Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV), “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” Even though we might feel so far gone, wanting to undo it all, God extends His grace to us.

Here’s a promise to hold on to: you are not your struggles, hurts, or mistakes. You are who God calls you to be. You are God’s masterpiece, and you were created to do good things! You may wish you could undo it all, but all those struggles bring you right to the center of God’s promises, and He can turn all things around for good.
