By reading the Bible you can get to know and understand God’s values, intentions, thoughts, and actions. You will also find guidelines for living a life of love, justice, peace, and joy, as He intended for His creation.
His Word is for today and always
God never changes. He still thinks, feels, and acts the same way today. Malachi 3:6 Since God and His purpose for creation will never change, the Bible still applies to us today and to ages beyond.
Learn how to live
In His Word, God tells you to show love toward Him and people around you. Jesus lived the Word by spending His life on earth reaching out in love to others and pleasing His Father. In fact, He is called the Word. John 1:14
The Word is alive
The power of the Word becomes real when you believe, respect, and apply what you read to your life. Engaging with the Bible renews your thoughts, directs your actions, and transforms your heart. Hebrews 4:12

See God’s heart, and love Him
All the instructions in God’s Word are based on His genuine love for people to protect them from hurt and evil. Psalm 119:105 When you are obedient to God’s Word, He experiences your love for Him. John 14:23
God’s Word will...

For example, satan may tell you through thoughts in your mind that you are not able to withstand a certain temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13 makes it clear: the devil is lying, the Word protects you, giving you victory.

God’s Word is the truth. As long as you know and obey it, sin and temptation have no power over you. Romans 6:14
How will you make sure you spend more time in God’s Word?
Lord, open my heart to Your Word to know and understand You. Guide me how to live and think. Help me to apply what I learn from the Bible daily in my life, glorifying Your name—in Jesus’s name, amen.
