If you ask for His guidance, He will answer. 

He speaks to you through:

• His Word,

Psalm 119:105 

When He guides you, it is as if His Word becomes alive, speaking into your situation. Sometimes it feels like the particular piece was written just for you at the specific time or season in your life.

• His Spirit,

Romans 8:14

You sense an inner voice in your heart or thoughts and experience peace.

• circumstances,

Psalm 139:3

Circumstances change, influencing your choices, making a certain way possible, or cancelling out alternatives.

• dreams, faces, and visions,

Acts 2:17

• an audible voice,

1 Samuel 3:10

• and peace.

John 14:27

Sometimes while you are waiting for God to guide you, you experience a deep peace to make a certain decision. It gives you certainty of His favor in that direction.

Remember, it doesn’t matter whether He talks to you through His Word, Spirit, circumstances, dreams, or any other way. He will always confirm all His guidance with peace.

Take note! Make sure there is nothing in your life that can block your prayers (DAY 8).

Take responsibility

God wants to lead and protect you throughout your life. He loves you and is jealous about this position in your life. He wants you to personally ask Him to guide you and not depend on others to hear from Him on your behalf. It will always remain your responsibility to hear from God yourself. Never put choices about your future into someone else’s hands.

Learn this important life lesson from the mistake the young prophet of Judah made years ago as recorded in 1 Kings 13:1-31. He listened to the lie of another prophet and lost his life. Jeremiah 17:5-8 Don’t follow anyone’s advice before personally checking it with God.

A close, relaxed relationship of trust with Jesus is the ultimate way to hear God’s voice.

Lord, help me to be more sensitive to Your guidance, to hear clearly without confusion, and to be obedient without compromise to You—in Jesus’s Name, amen.
