Remember and Declare

True Stories are important right? It is important for followers of Jesus to tell each other stories of how we have seen God at work in our lives! We know a boy who was diagnosed with very late stage cancer when he was two years old. The doctors had given him no hope at all and told his parents to prepare for him to pass away. His parents were totally devastated. They prayed tirelessly for his healing and invited many people to pray with them. They said that they clung onto stories of others who had been healed and relied on scripture about the power and the heart of God. The miraculous happened over the course of two years, and the little boy was fully healed. He is now 10 years old. He is healthy and happy, and he is a living, walking miracle. The doctors have no explanation for his healing other than the possibility that it was a miracle.

When the psalmist was feeling distraught and crying out to God for help, he remembered the things the Lord had done. He remembered God's miracles of long ago, and he meditated on His mighty deeds. He encourages himself by declaring truths about God. “To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand. I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” If you are begging God to intervene on your behalf today, if you need His touch, His voice, or His healing, ask Him! Declare His miracles of old! Your faith will strengthen and rise! We don’t always know what God will do, but we always know who He is. He is always good.
