Even the Darkness

“Even the darkness is not too dark for You.”

It is so reassuring to know that God can handle all our messiness. We are each dealing with our own stuff. Sometimes we feel like we are alone in our sadness. Sometimes we look around at other Jesus followers and think we are the only ones who get this mad or have negative thoughts about our parents or teachers or (fill in the blank). Sometimes we really don't like how we acted in a situation or we think we will never be good enough.

David knew God deeply. He knew that there wasn't an emotion he could feel that was too big or too dark for the Father. "Even the darkness is not too dark for You and conceals nothing from You." We can't hide our feelings from the Father. He knows, and He can handle it! It may seem strange to be excited that God knows your thoughts... We all have thoughts we'd rather keep to ourselves! But think about it: You don't have to pretend with God! You can't trick Him into thinking you are someone you aren't. You can be 100% real with Him. There is nothing you can do that will make Him love you more than He does RIGHT NOW. He loves you as you are. AND there is nothing you could do that could make Him love you less. He loves you, fully and completely.
