Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsSample
No Need to Wait
Have you ever had really big news you wanted to tell someone? Maybe something amazing happened and you couldn't wait to get to a phone to call someone who you knew would be just as excited...but you had to wait all day until they were available. Or have you ever had to call a business or company or even maybe your school and been put on hold? You just sit there and wait and wait and...wait...and wait.
It can be pretty frustrating to have something to say to someone and not be able to say it. In this Psalm, David seems to be bursting with things to tell his Father! "You are loving! You help me when I am in trouble and save me from my enemies! You promise me good things! Don't stop what You have begun!" Psalm 138:3 shows us that we don't have to wait for God to get off the phone with someone else or wait until we are home from school to tell Him our exciting news. "On the day I called, You answered me; And You made me bold and confident with strength in my life.”
You have constant access to God. You can tell Him how you are feeling on your way to school, while sitting in class, or while you make yourself a tuna sandwich. You don't have to wait for the perfect moment or until He isn't busy. He hears you the moment you start communicating.
GO DEEP: Is there something you want to tell God right now? Go for it! He is available.
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
