Through the Bible: IsaiahSample
Be A Good Citizen in God’s Kingdom
He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.
Isaiah 33:15-16 (ESV)
The prophet here asked us to walk righteously, refuse all bribes, stop access to evil and despise the gain out of oppressing others. If we can do all these and be good citizens in God’s Kingdom, we are promised His abundant blessings which are:
1. Security - ‘’He shall dwell on high: his place of defense’’ - We are all protected under His arm and nothing can harm us in His Kingdom.
2. Sufficiency - "Bread shall be given him" – We may not have all that we asked for, but we definitely would have everything we need for our daily life.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your everlasting love and blessings. May You always remind us to walk righteously and refuse all evil temptation. Let us be good citizens in Your Kingdom. We pray all these in Your mighty name, Amen!
About this Plan
The book of Isaiah, which contains 66 chapters, is called “the Bible in miniature.” The first 39 chapters summarise the Old Testament which addresses the judgement of sins and the hope in God. The other 27 chapters foreshadow the New Testament which addresses the Gospel of Jesus and how God’s people will inherit His kingdom victoriously. If you want to have a Bible overview, this is the to-go book.
