Who Am I?

DAY 3 OF 7

Wonderful Knowledge

The psalmist, David expresses his deep understanding of God in this psalm.

David paints beautiful imagery of God and His creation. He knows God as One who is keenly involved with His creation. David understands the unquestionable reality of God’s omnipresence and that he cannot go anywhere away from the presence of the Lord. David marvels that this all-knowing, ever-present, Almighty God is personally interested in him, even as early as forming him fearfully and wonderfully, in his mother’s womb. This knowledge causes David to break out in praise of God.

Every human ever born is God’s image-bearers who knows us before we are formed in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5). Our God is not someone distant, sitting high up in the heavens, looking down on us. He is a God who takes a personal and keen interest in us. He is involved with each of us, as early as when we were being formed in our mother's womb. We are part of God's creation. The Lord has formed us, with purpose and intent. Not one of us is an accident.

Does knowing that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, cause you too, to break out into praise to God?

Lord when the challenges of life overwhelm me, help me know deep down that I am your wonderful creation, I pray.

About this Plan

Who Am I?

The question of identity is one that has plagued humankind through the ages. Our understanding of this all-important question is often the result of what we have been told by our parents, family, teachers, and friends. Words that people have spoken to us, tend to define our understanding of ourselves. But should they? Explore what the Bible says through this plan from Find Rest My Soul by Preethi Alice Jacob.
