Who am I?
This is a question each of us asked ourselves at some point in time. Our understanding of this all-important question is often the result of what we have been told by our parents, family, teachers, and friends. Words that people have spoken to us, tend to define our understanding of ourselves. But should they?
The Bible is the true Word of God and holds the answer to all our questions, including defining who we are. When we want to understand how our car works, its features, we refer to the manufacture’s manual, Similarly, to understand who we are, why we were created, to know our purpose, we need to refer to our Maker, and His manual, the Bible.
God simply and clearly states that He intentionally created us in His image, as man and woman, to rule and have dominion over the earth. We are not a cosmic accident nor are we a result of evolving from a single cell organism. You and I are fearfully and wonderfully made by Him (Psalm 139:4). We are created for His divine pleasure and glory (Revelation 4:11).
Am I living by this deep yet simple truth?
Lord, I thank you that you have created me, intentionally, and in your image.
