“Reds Are The Best!”
GOD’S WORD: Saved
READ:
Manny and Ada always opened their fruit snacks at the very same time.
“On your mark! Get set! Go!” They dumped at once to see who got the best colors.
“Hooray!" shouted Manny. “I got a red! Reds are the best.”
“Oh, no!” Ada frowned, “I got all greens and one yellow. Greens are the worst.”
Manny smiled. “Wanna trade? I’ll give you my only red for a green.”
“But reds are your favorite,” said Ada.
“Yours, too,” said Manny. “What do you say?”
ASK: What’s your favorite color fruit snack or candy? Would you trade your favorite for the worst, like Manny did?
SAY: This is just what God did. But not with fruit snacks. With people! God’s son, Jesus, was God’s favorite. Jesus was the best friend ever, but God knew the world needed a best friend, too. Do you know what God did? God gave Jesus to our world, so even the worst of friends could know his love. God traded Jesus, his favorite, to save us.
PRAY: Thank you, God, for trading your favorite for me. Jesus, you are the best friend ever. Amen.
ADA’s CHOICE:
Ada looked at the red fruit snack. “Are you sure, Manny?”
“Of course,” said Manny. “You’re my best friend.”
Ada smiled. “Thanks, best friend. Tomorrow, you get all my reds.”

About this Plan
The Grasp family reading plan guides family interaction as it helps children aged preschool-elementary to better grasp what God’s words mean for them. Using the acronym GRASP (God’s Word. Read. Ask. Say. Pray), parents will discover the simplicity of teaching God’s Word. Before meals, school, or bed, even a few minutes will prove powerful as families learn with one another through the adventures of Manny and Ada.
