Can A Leopard Change His Spots?
1 John 2:17
And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Have you ever heard this idiom, “A leopard cannot change its spots”? It means people cannot change their basic personalities, habits, etc. This is how God described the Israelites during Jeremiah’s times. No matter how many times God called, reminded, and helped them, the people never changed their tendency of ignoring God’s commands.
How about us? There might be some bad habits or characters that we have to change. We have been trying really hard to change, but we can’t.
Remember, nothing is too hard for God. Come to God humbly and ask Him to guide and lead you to break the bad habits and characters. It takes the power of Christ to change us and to renew us to do God’s will, instead of following the fleshly desires.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for Your forgiveness. Thank You for the hope You’ve given that nothing is impossible in You. Thank You for Your power to change me. Amen.
