DAY 6 OF 6

GROWING AND BEARING FRUITS

In our relationship with professing believers, we see some Christians who look so mature and others who never seem to grow. The person who grows up holds responsibility in the congregation, supports the Christian community, and helps others grow, while the others are constantly struggling with the same personal problems. Why do some people grow up and become workers in the church, while others remain childish?

Christians don't grow because they don't want to grow or they don't know how to grow. Isn't that strange? People become Christians, but they do not want to grow. Growing is a logical consequence of the decisions that have been made. Believers are disciples who must continue to be discipled. If there is no underlying problem, Christians should yearn for growth in their relationship with the Lord. The fundamental problem here is whether they believe in Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. These days, people are very concerned about their physical fitness. Those who are spiritually alive will notice their spiritual fitness. Only those who are spiritually dead will be indifferent to their fitness.

The Father calls us to "bear much fruit" (John 15: 8). In other words, God doesn't save us just to save us. He saved us so that we could bear fruits in our service in the world. We are not called just to be saved. We are called for a mission: to be God's representative and to bear fruits for His glory.

The fruit will manifest as we grow spiritually. We will not produce many things of eternal significance if we are not spiritually mature. We will miss the opportunity to become a light in the world if we are too busy struggling with the same problems over and over again. We will not go up to a higher class because we have never passed the test of faith that matures us.

Today’s devotional

1. Are we growing? Please state the evidence of our spiritual growth.

2. How do we ensure our spiritual growth?

Today’s actions

Keep growing! The fruits that we will pick in eternity will be the same as our growth.

About this Plan

Spiritual Discipline

Every person will surely grow both physically and spiritually. Physically, we need food to support our body’s growth. Spiritually, we also need spiritual food, which is the word of God, to support our spiritual condition. We need to make sure that our daily spiritual food is sufficient and nutritious. Let’s have spiritual discipline so that our spiritual life will grow faster and higher.
