DAY 5 OF 6

TOUCHING JESUS

Wherever Jesus went, many people followed Him and crowded near Him. Amid the crowd, a woman approached Jesus from behind and touched His garment. (v. 27). Jesus asked, "Who touched Me?” (v. 30). His disciples replied, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” (v. 31)

The figure of Jesus is indeed a figure that attracts the world's attention. Throughout the ages, people crowded near Him. Philosophers seek to explain His teachings. Artists make sculptures or paintings of Him. Psychologists explain His greatness. There were so many people crowded around Him. But among that crowd, none touched Him. Jesus was only considered to be an inspirer, not a Savior, nor someone who brought the salvation.

Every Sunday for centuries, millions of people around the world (including all of us) have crowded around Jesus. All of us come from all over the places with all kinds of desires and motivations. The sick hope to be cured. The poor want to be enriched. Those who have problems long to be freed. The question is, how many of them have the desire to touch Him and have a personal relationship with Him? Our lives will be different when we want to have a relationship with Him.

Don't worship Jesus without touching Him! Invite Him to be fully present in our lives. Give Him a place especially in our homes. Include Him in all the movements and rhythms of our lives. He understands us much better than we do. Let us become people who truly resemble Him through a proper knowledge of Him.

Today’s devotional

1. Is our spiritual life just like the crowd around Jesus?

2. What can we do to touch Jesus?

Today’s actions

Intimacy cannot happen instantly. Let us have an intensive relationship with Lord Jesus.

About this Plan

Spiritual Discipline

Every person will surely grow both physically and spiritually. Physically, we need food to support our body’s growth. Spiritually, we also need spiritual food, which is the word of God, to support our spiritual condition. We need to make sure that our daily spiritual food is sufficient and nutritious. Let’s have spiritual discipline so that our spiritual life will grow faster and higher.
