90 Days to Wholeness: A Porn Addiction Recovery Devotional for WomenSample
In line with our discussion from a couple of days ago about our need for a shepherd, lest we wander, I want to take it one step further. The greatest enemy a sheep has is the wolf on the prowl. Our greatest enemy is the devil himself who has only come to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). When sheep wander from their shepherd, they are not only at risk of getting lost, but are at risk of being devoured. The same is true of us—devoured by sin.
How do we keep from wandering? Sheep know where their shepherd is not by his proximity, but by his voice. When his voice is near, they know they are in the right place. We wander off when we listen to the wrong voice.
The voice of the enemy makes sin sound enticing while the voice of God would never lead you to sin. The voice of the enemy speaks words of shame while the voice of God speaks words of gentle correction. The voice of the enemy lies to you while the voice of God can only speak truth.
As it relates to your proneness to wander, how can you discern the voice of the Shepherd from the voice of the wolf?
