90 Days to Wholeness: A Porn Addiction Recovery Devotional for WomenSample
I don’t think any of us are fooling ourselves about the sin in our lives. We wouldn’t be doing this 90 Days to Wholeness if there weren’t something in our lives that we don’t want to see fixed. But yesterday, we asked God to examine our hearts for hidden sin. The unknown sin that may be feeding or contributing to the known sin.
If you’re still unsure of what may be hidden, continue to pray Psalm 139:23-24 from yesterday; asking God to reveal to your own heart the sin which is unknown to you.
Now, I don’t mean to beat this issue to death. I am not trying to force you to identify sin that isn’t there. If you feel it’s all out on the table now, then that’s wonderful. But when sin goes unacknowledged and unrepented, healing is stunted.
This is where surrender and confession are so closely connected. We move forward when we are honest with ourselves. We move forward when we are honest with God. We move forward when all of our sin is on the table. We move forward when we say, “God, here is my junk. All of my junk.”
We cannot open our hands halfway and expect to receive whole healing. Is there something still gripped tightly in your hand? Hand it over to God today so you can move forward with the steps to come.
