This passage is part of Jesus’s longest recorded sermon—the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus takes time to help people understand what He calls a blessed life, and it is very different from what the world describes as a good life. As you read this passage, I want you to take time and think about your own life. Are there some areas in your life where you are focusing on the wrong things and seeking what the world says you should seek after? What is one area where you need to ask God to help you live it out?
Challenge: Today, we challenge you to choose one area where you need to align yourself with what Jesus says leads to a blessed life instead of what the world says is a blessed life. Then, take some time to pray and ask God to help you change your thoughts, words, and actions to align with Him.

Over the next ten days, we will look at what God says about influence. How do we use our influence for His purposes? How does what God says about influence differ from what the world teaches?
