Just Like YouSample

Take some time and think about all your closest friends.  What do you like most about them?  Which of your friends help you grow closer to Jesus?  Do any of your friends actually cause you to move further away from Him?  This proverb is an important one to think through when it comes to the friends we have.  A good, true friend should help you be a better person and help you grow closer to Jesus.  Now, we aren’t saying that your friends have to be perfect, but they should share your beliefs and encourage you to be a better person.  Do all your friends do that? Or, are there some friends that fall short?

Challenge: Today, we challenge you to evaluate your friendships.  If you have friends who aren’t helping you grow closer to Jesus, we challenge you to change that friendship.  This might include having a conversation with that friend, limiting your time with that friend, or even ending the friendship if you feel like it is toxic.  Allow God to guide you by having friends that lead you closer to Him.
