6 Words That Will Change Your LifeSample

“Where did I come from?”  

“Who is my father?”  

“Why am I here?”  

These are the kinds of questions that plagued my brain growing up. Raised in a rough Denver neighborhood, I longed for something more than the chaos that surrounded me.  

Having never met my biological father, a whole array of daddy issues tangled within my soul. 

Mom was angry, because she had to raise two boys on her own. My extended family members, especially my uncles, wrestled with a simmering rage that could explode instantly into flying fists and bloody violence.  The organized crime ringleaders in Denver referred to my five uncles as “the crazy brothers.” When the mafia thinks your family is dysfunctional, you’ve got problems.  

Despite the rage of my family members, I was a pensive, quiet kid who used a flashlight to read my Bible while sitting underneath the kitchen sink, or in a closet, or under my bed. 

I was trying to get away from the noise of my very loud, very violent family. 

I remember reading, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth,” and something struck a chord in my searching young soul. There was a bigger reason for life than making money, paying bills and throwing fists.  

In Genesis 1, the Bible tells us that from the very beginning, God invited us humans into His power and presence. God literally created us to be with Him! When He said, “Let us make mankind in our image…,” we see a plan within the Trinity to create humanity in such a way that we can relate with Him deeply and personally. 

The Father engineered us. Jesus made us. And the Holy Spirit empowered the entire process. From the beginning of time, we were made to be in intimate fellowship with every member of the Trinity.  

This amazing theological truth gave me hope as a child that not only was I loved, but I was not alone after all. There was a larger Being, and this Supreme Being loved me with an everlasting love.  It’s through Christ’s shed blood that we have access into the same ocean of love that pulsates between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 

Stop and consider the love that God has for you. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are inviting you into a relationship with them, through Jesus. 

Have you put your faith in Jesus to save you, based on His death and resurrection? The moment you trust in Jesus, you enter into an eternal relationship with the Trinity God.
