There's Hope For TodaySample
How did Jesus show His glory to His disciples?
It all started with an act of kindness to a young man on his wedding day. The wine failed. We know not why. Was it from inadequate preparations? Was it the result of party-crashers? Was there a breakdown in communications? All we know is that a young man was about to be publicly embarrassed – even censured – because the wine ran out. Jesus’ mother, Mary, felt compassion for the couple and intervened with her Son. Against the backdrop of a common wedding feast, Jesus displayed His glory. It was more than turning water to wine. He displayed His glory by showing kindness. Kindness remains a radiant display of God’s glory – even if we can’t turn water to wine. Paul calls kindness a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). Peter connects kindness to godliness (2 Peter 1:7).
Wherever it finds application, the presence of the Savior is felt. We do not need extraordinary circumstances or miraculous signs to display God’s glory to the world. Every day we are afforded multiplied opportunities to be kind. Kindness without a price tag warms the coldest heart. Where His glory is displayed, men believe.
