There's Hope For Today

DAY 113 OF 366

ZACUALPA, GUATEMALA: The teacher treasured the worn and tattered book above all others. To her, it was the “most important book in the school.”

She had received it years ago at another school in another town. Every day she carried her treasured book to class and read aloud to her students for ten minutes. How many times had she read through that book with her students over the years? How many seeds were planted in the hearts of the little ones? Only heaven will tell.

A OneHope team stumbled across this teacher, and her remarkable story in a remote mountain village. She watched with tears as every student in the school was given a copy of the book she deemed most important in any school – the Book of Hope.

I’m sure that there will be millions of people in heaven because of mass evangelism, mercy ministries, and pulpit preaching. But somewhere over there I think we’ll find a surprising number of brothers and sisters who came to Christ because of a loving teacher who read aloud for ten minutes every day from the most important book in the school.
