Abiding in the PsalmsSample
The armour of God
Put on the armour of God to withstand the devil’s schemes. Don’t go into battle unequipped – pick up some protective gear!
We’re told to put on the belt of truth. Know God’s Word, know what is true, so that when lies come at you, you know it’s wrong and not from God and can combat that with His Truth!
Next, put on the breastplate of righteousness. Strive after holiness and to live like God wants you to.
Have your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. There is security and peace in God’s truth which allows you to fight battles you otherwise would shy away from, because you have full peace and assurance that following God is right.
Take up the shield of faith. Your faith, your belief in God, and your relationship with Him will protect you and guard you in life.
Then put on the helmet of salvation and hold onto sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
All of this sounds great, but how do you get all of this protective gear?
Ephesians 6 follows on to tell us to pray!
Pray in the Spirit - remember that God gave you His Holy Spirit to help you pray, to comfort you and to guide you.
Pray about everything – seek this protective gear, tell God about the big battles you’re facing, the little doubts you’re struggling with, what’s stressing you, what’s exciting in life and what you’re hopeful for.
Pray for your leaders, for people preaching. Pray for people at your church, at your school, in positions of power who are tasked with speaking God’s Word.
Pray for God to give you words to speak His truth fearlessly. He doesn’t ask you to go about it alone, He will give you these words.

About this Plan
The Psalms express the feelings and emotions that sometimes we find too hard to express to God by ourselves. Through diving into the Psalms and their different forms , the aim is that readers can lead prayer-filled lives, crying out, praising and worshipping our God through every season and in every moment.
