Coronavirus: Do Not Fear!

DAY 4 OF 7

Put an end to fear! šŸ’Ŗ

Do you know the story of Jairusā€™ daughter? As Jairus went to Jesus to ask Him to pray for his daughter, the Scriptures tell us that she died ā€¦ ā€œWhile he was still speaking to her, a messenger arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. He told him, ā€˜Your daughter is dead. Thereā€™s no use troubling the Teacher now.ā€™ But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, ā€˜Donā€™t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.ā€™ā€ (Luke 8:49-50, NLT)

When tragedy, from the Coronavirus, or any other means, comes knocking at our doors, we can become paralyzed by fear. Jesus isnā€™t surprised by our human fear reaction when weā€™re facing the unknown, when we experience catastrophes, when we dread terrible suffering, or when our bodies are ravaged by a grave illness. Jesus understood this manā€™s fear... and He understands yours.

Donā€™t listen to the voice telling you, ā€œThereā€™s no use troubling the Teacher now.ā€ This voice telling you that Jesus doesnā€™t hear you, doesnā€™t listen, isnā€™t interested in your situation, or that itā€™s too late.

Jesus loves you, my friend. How could He ignore your needs?

I invite you to turn toward Jesus today and share with Him whatā€™s worrying you, everything causing you grief. Here are a few practical examples:

  • Make a list of everything worrying you. Pray about it, thanking God in advance for intervening.
  • Proclaim, every morning, verses that speak of Godā€™s faithfulness, such as 2 Thessalonians 3:3, Lamentations 3:21-26, and Revelation 19:11.
  • Take time to praise God, declaring His greatness in the trial.

Donā€™t be afraid ... Jesus is with you. I invite you to pray right nowā€¦ā€œLord, I refuse to be afraid from here on out. I refuse to let doubt and fear paralyze me, even as panic sweeps the world. Iā€™m Your child, and I was born to experience Your presence and Your miracles. This situation that Iā€™m going through (name it) is difficult for me, but I have complete trust in You and know that You hear me. Yes, I know that Your gaze is upon me. Thank You for intervening miraculously, and thank You for the peace Youā€™re releasing within my heart. I worship You. I love You, Jesus.ā€

Thanks for existing!
