Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
God’s Ways
Numbers 14:17-18
“Now may the Lord’s strength be displayed, just as you have declared; The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished;…”
We don’t often think of strength as being displayed by self-control, abounding in love, and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet this is the frequent way in which God’s strength is expressed. When strength is expressed in anger, unforgiveness and rebellion, we don’t see the character of God displayed, but the pseudo strength of the world. Moses’ appeal to God’s true nature affected the destiny of millions of people and serves as a guide for our intercession for nations today. God’s nature is our standard and guide as we express strength in ministry in the life of the Church.
Lord Jesus, I pray for your empowerment this day to love, forgive and walk in your ways, not my own.
