What is Our Model?
Ezekiel 28:12-17
“You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty…on the day you were created…You were on the holy mount of God…Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom…So I threw you to the earth…”
God opposes the proud, but draws near to the humble. It was pride that caused Satan to fall away from God and rebel. Pride in his beauty and his wisdom became stumbling stones. In Satan’s war against God and His Kingdom, he looks for allies who also find pride in their wealth, beauty, and wisdom. The King of Tyre, a wealthy trading city, has been only one of many who have followed in the pattern of prideful rebellion that Satan took. Man looks at the outward appearance, our looks, our academic achievements/CV, our wealth – but God looks at the heart.
Where are we taking our models from?
God invites us to worship Him alone in Spirit and in truth.
Lord Jesus, you are my model of obedience, worship, and mission. I offer my heart and life to you this day and choose to worship you.
