Upsidedown Kingdom - Lessons from the Sermon on the MountSample

If you're someone who doesn’t usually identify as a risk-taker, the parable of the talents may seem a little upside-down. In the kingdom of the world, frugality and saving as much as you can always seems like the wisest choice. While that is true, and we shouldn’t be careless with God’s resources, sometimes being a good steward with what God gives us involves taking a risk in order to advance and establish His kingdom. Saving for the future is good….but not using what God gave you (whether that’s money or skills or time or knowledge)…that’s just foolish!
As you read the following scripture, take a few moments to meditate on the word of God, then respond to the following questions:
- What has God revealed to you about His kingdom?
- What has God revealed to you about the King?
- What has God revealed to you about being a citizen of the new kingdom?
- Now, ask the Holy Spirit to provide you opportunities to live into God's kingdom today!

About this Plan

In the world that we live in, things are not as they should be. One might even say they are upside down. However, the good news is that Jesus came to turn this world right side up. What if our eyes were opened to the REALITY that the kingdom of heaven is in fact here?
