Upsidedown Kingdom - Lessons from the Sermon on the MountSample
If you recall the story of Joseph and his amazing coat, you will remember that after being sold in to slavery by his brothers, Joseph actually rises in power in Egypt and then those very same brothers come around begging for some food, not realizing that the powerful man they are begging is their brother. Usually when we read the end of this story we are amazed by the forgiveness of Joseph. And that is true, this is an amazing example of forgiveness. However, if we keep reading, Joseph doesn’t just stop at forgiving his brothers. He lavishes them with abundance…giving them the best that Egypt has to offer. The same is true when we are made right-side-up in the Kingdom of God. Not only are we forgiven, but we are offered a true and abundant life!
As you read the following scripture, take a few moments to meditate on the word of God, then respond to the following questions:
- What has God revealed to you about His kingdom?
- What has God revealed to you about the King?
- What has God revealed to you about being a citizen of the new kingdom?
- Now, ask the Holy Spirit to provide you opportunities to live into God's kingdom today!

About this Plan
In the world that we live in, things are not as they should be. One might even say they are upside down. However, the good news is that Jesus came to turn this world right side up. What if our eyes were opened to the REALITY that the kingdom of heaven is in fact here?
