Talking To God
Like the apostles in Acts 1, sometimes other people can help us make the right decision. But if we are alone, it can be much harder. That’s why it’s so important to talk with the Lord about the choices you make. Prayer is a real way we can calm our busy minds and listen for God’s response. Read this prayer in Psalm 25:1–7. Think about these questions as you read:
- How does the writer of this psalm begin the prayer? (Psalm 25:1–3)
- What does the writer ask God for? (Psalm 25:4–7)
- While the writer asks God for direction, what else is said? (Psalm 25:4–6)
Make It Personal
- Do you pray to God when you are not sure what you should do? If not, what do you do instead?
- Have you ever prayed a prayer that comes from the Bible? What difference did it make?
- Would memorizing some of the psalms help you in your prayer time? Why or why not?
- What does this psalm tell you about how to pray?
About this Plan

Choices is a series of lessons to help you study the Bible. It discusses many of the very difficult choices you must make in your life. These choices include matters of faith, sex, sin, and violence. Choices works best with a small group. You will have more fun and learn more if you do these lessons with other people. However, you can also go through this material by yourself.
