Challenge Accepted: PrayerSample
Jesus spent much of his teaching on prayer fighting the pervasive idea that God needed to be addressed in prayer through overly formal and religious methodology. The culture He was speaking to had been trained their entire lives to try and impress God (and each other, frankly) through using the right words in the right way at the right time in the hopes of persuading God to do what they wanted. Jesus flipped that entirely on its head by showing us over and over that God is to be approached like a loving Father who is delighted to spend time with His children. Let that image of a loving and perfect Father rest in your mind as you read today’s passages.

About this Plan
Why and how should we pray? The Bible is packed full of teachings and examples that deal with all these questions. This week-long reading plan will cover some of the clearest teachings and greatest recorded prayers to ground and enrich our personal prayer lives in the truth of Scripture. Pair these scriptures with a brief prayer afterwards, and watch the difference it makes in your relationship with Jesus.
